Privacy Policy

This is a quiz you send to your friends, not a bank. Still, you deserve to know exactly what happens to the things you type here — so here it is, in plain English, with no legal fog machine.

1. The short version

There are no accounts here. You never make a password, and we never ask for your email address. When you build a quiz, we store the name you typed and the questions and answers you picked. When a friend plays your quiz, we store the name they typed, the answers they guessed, and the score they ended up with. That is the whole database.

The site also shows Google AdSense ads, and ads involve cookies. That part is not ours to control, so section 4 explains it properly and tells you how to opt out of personalised advertising if you would rather not have it.

2. What we collect

From the person creating a quiz: the name you type — which can absolutely be a nickname, an inside joke, or just your first name — plus the ten questions you keep, swap in, or write yourself, and the answer you mark as correct for each one.

From the person taking a quiz: the name they type before they start, the option they pick for each question, and the final score out of ten that comes from those picks.

That is genuinely it. We do not collect email addresses. We do not collect passwords, because there is nothing to log into. We do not ask for or verify anyone's real identity — if you call yourself "Bean" on this site, then to us you are Bean and always will be. There are no user accounts of any kind.

Separately from all that, Cloudflare hosts the site and therefore processes the ordinary technical data any web server sees when your browser makes a request — things like your IP address, the time of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site quickly and to block attacks and abuse. It is the plumbing of the internet rather than something we mine.

3. Where it is stored

Quizzes, guesses, and scores live in a Cloudflare D1 database. The site itself is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Nothing is copied off to some other analytics warehouse or handed to a data broker.

4. Cookies and advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-3389551593788366). Ads are how the site stays free to use.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You are not stuck with that. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. If you are visiting from the EU, the UK, or Switzerland, you may be shown a consent choice before personalised ads are served, and you can decline personalised ads there. Declining does not break the quiz — you will simply see less relevant ads.

5. Your quizzes are public

This one matters, so read it twice. A quiz link like knowsme.fun/q/abc123 is not secret and not password-protected. Anyone who has the link can open it and play, whether you sent it to them or they found it forwarded in a group chat three hops away from you. The names your friends type appear on that quiz's leaderboard, visible to everyone else who opens the link.

So please don't put anything private, sensitive, or identifying into your questions or answers. No addresses, no phone numbers, no workplace drama, no "which street did I live on as a kid" — that last one is a password reset question, not a quiz question. And don't put someone else's private information in either; your friend did not agree to have their business posted on a public URL just because you found it funny.

Keep it to favourite foods, terrible haircuts, and whether you'd survive a zombie apocalypse. That's what this is for.

6. What we don't do

We don't sell your data. There is no buyer for "Bean thinks Marta's favourite pizza is pepperoni," and even if there were, we wouldn't take the call.

We don't build advertising profiles ourselves. We don't track you across other websites. We don't email you newsletters, reminders, or "we miss you!" messages — we couldn't if we wanted to, because we never asked for your email address in the first place.

7. Deleting your data

Because there are no accounts, there is no settings page with a delete button to hide from you. Instead, email the address in section 10 with the link to your quiz and say you want it gone. We'll delete the quiz along with the guesses and scores attached to it. Please send it from wherever is convenient — we have no way to verify identity, so hang on to your quiz link, since it's the only handle either of us has on your data.

8. Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has typed something here that should be removed, email us and we'll take it down.

9. Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects any of the above, this page gets rewritten and the "last updated" date at the top changes with it. That date is the honest signal — if it hasn't moved, nothing here has.
