About this site

You answer 10 multiple-choice questions about yourself, you get a link, and you send that link to your friends. They try to guess how you answered. Then you find out — with numbers, in public, on a leaderboard — which of your friends actually pays attention and which one has been nodding along for six years.

Why I built this

Hi — I'm Thiago. I build small web toys for fun, usually on weekends, usually because something bugged me. This one bugged me for two reasons.

The first is that friendship quizzes are a genuinely great excuse to find out what people remember about you. Not the big stuff — everyone knows your birthday is in March. The small stuff. Whether you take your coffee black. Whether you'd actually get on the plane. That's the fun part, and most quizzes get there.

The second reason is that most of them are trivially easy to cheat. The correct answers are sitting right there in the page source, or they flash by in the JavaScript, and anyone who thinks to look can walk away with a perfect score they didn't earn. And even when nobody cheats, the result evaporates the moment the tab closes. No record, nothing to point at, nothing to argue about at dinner.

So I made one where the answers stay on the server until you've committed to a guess, and where every score sticks around on a leaderboard. That's the whole idea. It's not a big idea. But it makes the game work the way it was always supposed to.

How it works

Build your quiz. Type your name — first name, nickname, whatever your friends call you — and answer 10 multiple-choice questions about yourself. You can pull questions from the bank, swap out any you don't like, or write your own from scratch if you have something specific in mind.

Share your link. When you're done you get a link like knowsme.fun/q/abc123. Put it in the group chat, your story, wherever your people are. Anyone who opens it types their own name and starts guessing.

Watch the leaderboard. As friends play, their scores land on your leaderboard, ranked by who knows you best. Come back whenever you want to see who's climbing and who quietly never finished.

What makes it different

• It's actually cheat-proof. Your correct answers are never sent to your friend's browser before they lock in a guess. There's nothing to peek at in the page source, because it isn't there yet.
• Instant feedback. Each guess turns green or red right away instead of making you sit through all 10 questions before you learn anything. The reactions are better this way.
• A real leaderboard. Every friend who plays gets ranked against everyone else who played, so the result outlives the tab.
• Tier badges. Scores come with a rank, from S — MIND READER at the top, down through A INNER CIRCLE, B GOOD FRIEND, C ACQUAINTANCE and D BARELY KNOW ME, to F — TOTAL STRANGER at the bottom. The F is funnier than it should be.
• Free, and no account. No sign-up, no password, no email. Type a name and go.

Is it free?

Yes, completely. There's no paid tier and nothing is held back. The site shows ads, and that's what covers the hosting bill — that's the entire business model.
